Renewable Seating
Wharton Center is moving to a Renewable Seating Model for the 24-25 Broadway Series. The Renewable Seat Model will allow you to maintain the same seats each season with a current Circle Donation and renewed Broadway Series subscription. This model is standard for the Broadway industry, providing a consistent and more simplistic subscription ordering process. Please note we will continue to seat Performing Arts Series subscriptions using the current priority seating system.
As this is a new seating system, you may have questions. After reviewing the list of FAQs below, if your question is not answered, please get in touch with Kristen Calabrese, Director of Development, at (517) 884-3140, or Jennifer Richard, Ticket Office Manager, (517) 884-3106.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Wharton Center moving to a renewable seat model?
- Renewable seating is an industry standard for touring Broadway theatres.
- This system allows for a simplified annual subscription process.
- By renewing your Circle Donation and season tickets annually, season ticket holders are guaranteed the best seats at the best prices.
What is the process for selecting my seats?
- In late January, you will receive an email from Wharton Center that includes your assigned timeframe and promo code for selecting your seats online. During that window of time, you will log into the ticketing system online using the promo code. You will select your preferred day/time of the week for your Broadway package and pricing zone. You will then see a seating map that will allow you to select the exact location and number of seats for your Broadway package.
- There will be no payment required at this step.
How many Season Ticket Packages can I secure with my order?
- Season Ticket Holders are welcome to purchase up to five seats per order. Donors at the Garnet Donor level ($4,500) or higher may purchase up to eight seats in their order.
How can I improve my priority window for the seat selection process?
- Additional donations received by January 10, 2024 will be factored into your Circle Donor level and impact your assigned priority window for the seat selection process.
- You will need to renew your Circle Donation on time each year to retain your selected seats.
What happens if I miss my window to select my priority seating?
- If you miss your assigned time for seat selection, you can still select your Renewable Broadway seat locations with your ticket link until February or call the Ticket Office at (517) 432-2000.
Does renewable seating apply to Broadway and Performing Arts Series?
- Renewable seating applies to the Broadway Series only. Additional Broadway specials and performing arts performances will be seated in our traditional priority seating process.
What does the Broadway Series Season Ticket Package include?
- There are five shows in the Season Ticket package—same seats and show date for the entire season.
- You can purchase any additional Broadway specials when you make your package purchase at the time of our season announcement in March 2024.
I traditionally coordinate my season ticket purchase so that I can sit with other specific season ticket holders (i.e. friends, extended family). What options do I have with the renewable seat model?
- With the move to renewable seating, we are unable to guarantee seating with specific patrons outside of your Priority level. Subscribers wishing to sit with friends should try to coordinate their seat selection. This may involve donating at the same Circle Donor level.
What if I need more tickets for specific Broadway shows in the series?
- Additional tickets to specific shows can be added in the best available seats later. Subscribers will have the opportunity to move their seats in order to sit with their guests.
- The date for additional seat purchases has not yet been set, however, it will occur prior to the public on sale.
If I exchange my tickets for a different performance night, will I get my same seat location?
-
Season ticket packages are purchased for specific performance days and times and other Wharton Center subscribers will be enjoying your same seats at different performances. You will be given the best available seats when you exchange.
-
The exchange period will begin after all subscribers have been sat but before performances go on sale to the public.
