Scottish Chamber Orchestra
with Nicola Benedetti
Maxim Emelyanychev, Conductor
The internationally celebrated Scottish Chamber Orchestra is one of the finest musical ensembles in the world. Known for its stunning performances and extensive, award-winning recordings, the orchestra teams up with another Scottish wonder, violinist Nicola Benedetti, who is currently setting the music world on fire, for Bruch’s well-loved Violin Concerto No. 1.
The program also includes Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3, “Scottish”—one of the composer’s finest works, filled with portraits of the highlands and country dances—and Stride, a new work by remarkable young composer Anna Clyne, hailed by The New York Times as “a composer of uncommon gifts.”
