Co-author of the new book, When Doctors Don’t Listen: How to Avoid Misdiagnoses and Unnecessary Tests, Dr. Leana Wen is Director of Patient-Centered Care Research at The George Washington University. Inspired by her own childhood illness and then her mother’s long battle with cancer, Dr. Wen is passionate about guiding patients to advocate for better care. A college graduate at the age of 18, Dr. Wen has been a fellow and consultant to the World Health Organization, the Brookings Institution, Eurasia Group and China Medical Board. She has had a fascinating and illustrious career to date, and has been featured in TIME, Newsweek, The Washington Post and The New York Times for her advocacy and research.
