 women and girls around the wor
 ld.  Each year\, 90 percent of
  proceeds from tickets benefit
  a local organization and the 
 remaining 10 percent of procee
 ds benefit a spotlight region 
 of the world chosen by V-Day. 
 This year's V-Day Spotlight Ca
 mpaign is on the Democratic Re
 public of Congo where war has 
 been a constant throughout reg
 ion since 1998. Over the last 
 10 years\, 5.4 million people 
 have been killed and more than
  300\,000 Congolese women and 
 girls have been raped\, tortur
 ed and destroyed. Eve\, Inc.\,
  a domestic violence shelter i
 n the Lansing area\, will be t
 he major benefactor of this ye
