Always fresh and innovative, River North Chicago’s exciting and entertaining performances have been captivating audiences for the past two decades. The dynamic core works developed by Artistic Director Frank Chaves, along with an array of pieces by nationally and internationally renowned choreographers, demonstrate depth and sophistication, yet what remains constant is the commitment to creating an accessible, enriching experience for audiences. The East Lansing engagement will feature a special commission honoring the legendary career of American jazz composer and trumpeter, Miles Davis, and celebrating the 85th anniversary of his birth. Chaves, formerly a jazz saxophonist, returns to his roots by creating a set of jazz dances, combining his unique style with his American dance company in this quintessentially American art form.
