This is the 11th year of "The Vagina Monologues" production at MSU and our 11th year partnering with V-Day: Until the Violence Stops. "The Vagina Monologues" is a series of monologues based on Eve Ensler's interviews with women from around the world on relationships, sex, violence against women and the perception of vaginas. V-Day is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to putting an end to violence against women and girls around the world. Each year, 90 percent of proceeds from tickets benefit a local organization and the remaining 10 percent of proceeds benefit a spotlight region of the world chosen by V-Day. This year's V-Day Spotlight Campaign is on the Democratic Republic of Congo where war has been a constant throughout region since 1998. Over the last 10 years, 5.4 million people have been killed and more than 300,000 Congolese women and girls have been raped, tortured and destroyed. Eve, Inc., a domestic violence shelter in the Lansing area, will be the major benefactor of this year's production. Please join us in the fight to STOP violence against women and girls.
