Friday, November 20, 8 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 8 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 3 p.m., MSU Opera Theatre and Symphony Orchestra MSU Concert Auditorium $$, Susannah, one of the most often-produced American operas, is Carlisle Floyd's retelling of the biblical story of Susannah and the Elders set in rural Tennessee. Written in the 1950's in response to the McCarthyism rampant at the time, the musical drama tells the tale of a young woman shunned by her community and victimized by the very preacher who seeks to save her soul.
